Stay Gold

While the weather here may still be summery, it is fall. If you're like me you are on the lookout for some new additions to your wardrobe. Gold can be gaudy but it is one of my favorite trends for this season. Although designer looks are out of my budget (what with tuition for fashion school and all) that doesn't mean I can't enjoy the eye candy! So I've gathered a few inspirations for you as well and whether you can afford them or like me, simply dream of the days you can, I hope you will enjoy the shimmer of gold.

I always need some great flats for the days of trekking around the city and these are just shiny enough to suit me.

Diane Von Furstenberg Gale Metallic Blouse & Naples Metallic Twill Shorts - $345 & $295

While I might never pair these together that doesn't mean both wouldn't mix and match well with other pieces!

B Brian Atwood Fontann Sugar Paint Platform Pump - $350

I just love how the body of the shoe is gold shimmer but the platform is blue and the heel is red. It gives it a little more attitude than your classic black pump. 

Michael Kors Chantilly Lace Skirt - $6,995

Since I am a girly kind of girl I never say no to a romantic lace skirt and when I saw this Chantilly lace, I just swooned.

alice + olivia Caryn Full Skirt Dress - $695

This dress is my dream for any and every holiday party this year. The gold embroidery gives it texture and shine.

Stacey Bendel gets it right again with these intricately designed  pumps that could easily last seasons in my closet.

Donna Karan Slim Stretch Metallic Pants -$1295

I don't know about you but if I wear some tight gold pants I don't want to look like I just stepped out of the 80's and these I thought were so fantastic that I could never look bad in them. (I hope I'm right.)

Alexis Bittar Small Crystal Tear Earrings - $245

Alexis Bittar jewelry is always on my list of must-haves and these teardrop earrings are on the top of the list.

Kate Spade New York Sonny Skirt - $298

This silhouette is incredibly flattering and I love the darker shade of gold. 

Alexander McQueen Embroidered Cotton Tank - $635

I couldn't leave out McQueen. This tank is simply gorgeous. 

rag & bone Tuxedo Jacket - $595

 Classic, clean and a touch of glamorous.

Nanette Lepore Society Sequin Sheath Dress - $398

When it comes to gold you can't leave out sequins. This sheath dress has an elaborate design that doesn't overpower it while making it a showstopper!

I just love the glamour of  all this shine. Stay stylish and stay gold.

Emmy Fashion Recap

Fashions were fierce at the Emmy's last night.  I was proud to see so many wonderful looking ensembles. However there were also some horrors, so I'd just like to present some of my pics for the fabulous and flops.

Others I thought looked incredible were;  Kerry Washington, Heidi Klum, Hilaria Thomas & Alec Baldwin, Jane Krakowski, Morena Baccarin, Kathy Griffin, Sarah Paulson, Ginnifer Goodwin, Emily Van Camp, Max Greenfield and date, Kate Mara, Anna Chlumsky, Julianne Hough, Jane Levy, Maria Menounos, Giuliana Rancic, Kelly Osbourne, and Sofia Vergara.
There were a few who definitely flopped on fashion such as...

Lena Dunham looked undersized in this Prada dress. 

Glenn Close's dress by Bibhu Moahpatra was a slashing disaster. 

Although I've gotten hooked on Downton Abbey, Michelle Dockery's Louis Vuitton was a disaster with puckers and wrinkles everywhere. 

Zosia Marnet made me cringe in Bibhu Moahpatra.
